Ways to Rest & Beat Bridal Jitters

Brides: Are you getting enough rest and relaxation during the wedding parties and planning?

Exercise, diet and rest go hand in hand. Bridal jitters and overwhelm can be eased by making sure you have enough rest and sleep.
This is a time when it's important to look and feel your best and to have the energy you need to thrive and survive the process.

Most brides minds are so filled with all the details they have to make decisions about, they are afraid to let go, relax and truly rest.

The definition of rest is inactivity to allow recovery and growth.
It is what we do to let stress subside. Resting at the end of a day, and at the end of a week, help us to calm down and relax.

•    Sleep and rest aren’t luxuries; they are necessities. They restore the body and mind and help us maintain our mental and physical health.

•    Sleep affects cortisol levels which are often raised by activity and stress.

•    Elevated cortisol levels signal your body to keep eating and storing fat.

•    Sleep reduces cortisol production and helps rebalance the physical body.
     
Without the proper rest, your body will not be able to recuperate to sustain healthy exercise and diet. You will be more prone to injuries, and to comfort eating unhealthy foods.

So how does a bride find the time for rest, relaxation and proper sleep and not feel guilty?

One way is to carve out a special time of the day to sit quietly by yourself with no distractions, listen to soothing music, light a candle, have a warm bath, meditate and breathe.
Or be in a place outdoors that is peaceful, beautiful and serene.
Carve out at least half an hour and be selfish about it!

The other thing that's really Important is sleep. Most brides have trouble sleeping because they are excited or overwhelmed.
