Sleep for Wedding Beauty

"Oh sleep it is a gentle thing beloved from pole to pole."

   Shakespeare

Sleep is so important during the wedding planning process. If you get enough sleep, you’ll feel better, communicate better, make good decisions, have energy and have some fun on the way. Your physical body will be rested, rejuvenated and healthy.

Getting deprived of sleep is not good for physical and mental health. The price may be high: Reduced energy, greater difficulty concentrating, bad mood, mood swings and greater risk for accidents, including fall-asleep crashes. Work performance and relationships can suffer too.  Hard decisions may be intensified by the physical and mental consequences of lack of sleep.

For brides, during wedding planning and the wedding itself, this can translate to overwhelm, jitters, mood swings and the all too common feature of the “bridezilla”

Make sure you are getting a good night’s sleep. It calms and refreshes the nerves, the brain, the emotions, and helps all the functions of the body.

Here are some tips to enhance and prolong your sleep so you can have more energy, and feel & look good.:

•  Remove TV from bedroom and use the bedroom only for sleeping

•  Avoid alcohol at bedtime

•  Avoid sugar before bedtime, and reduce generally in your diet

•  Avoid nicotine before bedtime, reduce generally

•  Avoid caffeine before bedtime, reduce generally

•  Avoid exercising before bedtime

•  Make sure you are getting all the daily vitamins and minerals you need

•  Get regular exercise weekly

•  Do a simple stress relaxation exercise at bedtime

·      Make sure you drink enough plain water during the day

·      Avoid watching violent or negative things on TV right at bedtime.

·      Do a self-hypnosis exercise or listen to self hypnosis CD/tape.

·      Regular Health practitioner/MD visits to rule out anything else that may be keeping you awake.

·      Try to finish what you can of unfinished tasks during the day before you retire and then do a simple letting go exercise. Before or at bedtime.

·      Make sure the temperature in your room is adequate for you so you won't be awakened or kept awake by heat or cold.

·      If noise is a problem or you suspect a problem try using ear plugs.

Summary:

  •  Adequate sleep will help your body, your emotions, give you energy  and help beat bridal jitters.
  •  Better sleep, better decisions
  •  Love yourself, love your body, love your partner
